Love Is Blind… or You Don’t Need a Fortune Teller

Elena Venediktova

A village comedy in one act

In a quiet village courtyard, everything begins with an ordinary morning commotion and ends with something very much like a military operation to save love. Nastya returns from a trip to America, and one accidental photograph makes her relatives decide that the girl is about to leave for an “overseas fiancé”. Then everyone goes into action: an anxious aunt, a wise neighbor fortune-teller, Pavel, who is in love, and restless Mikheich, ready to rouse the whole village for the happiness of the young couple.

Love Is Blind… or You Don’t Need a Fortune Teller is a kind village comedy about jealousy, rumors, family fears, and true feeling, which still finds its way home.
